Here is a mixed media nursery painting I made for Amelia. This one is all about layering and patience.

The first stage was applying a patterned paper and some stripes. The next step I added some pages from an old book and filled in the rest of the canvas with different coloured paints. I also started to dirty it up with walnut ink, then used some Tim Holtz masking stencils with some brown paint. I then cut the circles out from some specialty papers I bought at Loomis craft store and painted my branches onto them. I then finished it off with some felt flowers and a bird cage, and voila – my nursery painting! There are more goodies to come.
